Pharmacological effect

According to the instructions for use Amprylan enters into the group of ACE inhibitors (angiotensin-converting enzyme). The active ingredient of Amprilan is Ramipril.

This effect of Amprilin as a decrease in pressure and hemodynamics is due to the expansion of blood vessels, a decrease in peripheral resistance (at the same time, the heart rhythm is not lost). With long-term use Amprilana decreases left ventricular hypertrophy.

A decrease in pressure usually occurs one to two hours after a single dose of Amprilan is taken. This effect lasts for another day, and Amprilan’s effect reaches its maximum in three to six hours. According to medical research and reviews, Amprilan reduces the incidence of cardiovascular death, stroke, myocardial infarction in those at risk (suffering from peripheral vascular diseases, diabetes, IHD, stroke), and is additionally susceptible to arterial hypertension, elevated cholesterol, microalbuminuria , tobacco addiction.

According to reviews, Amprilan reduces mortality (in general terms) and the need for revascularization. Amprilan prevents and slows down the development of heart failure (chronic). In diabetics, Amprilan reduces the risk of nephropathy and microalbuminuria.

Indications for use

According to the instructions, Amprylan is shown in the following states:

  • Arterial hypertension.
  • Chronic heart failure, including after myocardial infarction (in combination with other drugs).
  • Diabetic or nondiabetic nephropathy that has developed against the background of chronic diffuse kidney diseases, including chronic glomerulonephritis, accompanied by proteinuria.

Amprilan is also prescribed to reduce the risk of cardiovascular mortality, stroke, myocardial infarction in patients with coronary artery disease who have undergone coronary artery bypass surgery, with occlusive lesions of peripheral arteries.

Contraindications

Contraindications to the use of Amprilan are:

  • Severe arterial hypotension;
  • Metabolic disorders - galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency;
  • Period of pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  • Age up to 18 years;
  • Increased sensitivity of the body to ramipril and other components of the drug;
  • Angioedema in history;
  • Severe renal impairment;
  • Galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome;
  • Chronic heart failure in the stage of decompensation.

According to the instructions, Amprylan should be prescribed with caution in case of severe circulatory disorders, renal or hepatic insufficiency, diabetes mellitus.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Presented medicine is prohibited to take in the period of carrying a child due to the fact that it negatively affects the development of the fetus.

The baby may experience kidney problems, hypoplasia of the bones of the skull, hyperkalemia and hypoplasia of the lungs.

Therefore, before you start taking the drug in women of childbearing age, you must eliminate the presence of pregnancy. If a woman is diagnosed pregnant, stop taking Amprilan as soon as possible.
